Meeting Mason

Here we are on Christmas Eve
in the big city of Charlotte
the sun is setting
and here we are waiting at the NICU to meet Mason
the hospital is decorated beautifully, but
this is what we came here for. Here he is with his mom. So sweet.
Aunt Julie tried to hop in the photo but couldn't hold the camera still.
Sweet little boy. He is so tiny but doing so well. Mason opened his eyes a little for me and held my finger. Richard barely got to meet Mason before the visiting hours were over at 6:30. We were amazed at how big the NICU was - so many tiny babies, all little miracles from God. We're glad we finally got to meet you Mason and we can't wait to visit you again soon!
One last skyline view before heading back to Mom and Dad's for dinner.

A few cute pics from Mason's parents ( I couldn't resist posting them)...

New Nephew!

Ok, I was going to make my first real post about the wedding and post pretty pictures, but it will have to wait because…. We have a brand new nephew!!!

Mason James Shepherd was born at 7:01pm on Sunday, December 19, 2010! He weighed 2 lbs. 11 oz. and was 16 inches long. Although Emily and Jimmy were surprised to get to meet their little man 2.5 months early, Mason is doing well at the NICU in Charlotte and getting stronger each day. Richard and I are heading to Charlotte tomorrow for Christmas, so we are excited to get to meet Mason for the first time! Here are a few pics of the little guy.

Sweet little munchkin all hooked up to his CPAP and other gizmos in his incubator in the NICU.

Look how long my legs and arms are everyone! I'm going to be tall like my daddy! :)

Spending time with mom :)

The proud parents - Emily and Jimmy! Along with visitors, Grandma Shepherd and cousins Logan and Lucas.

Congratulations Jimily!!! Can't wait to meet your little man tomorrow! :)
